Nicholas Ghesquiere talks 'Florabotanica' and Kristen Stewart in new interview!

Coty Prestige has unveiled the new feminine fragrance from the house of Balenciaga. Florabotanica, which is fronted by actress Kristen Stewart, will be available in travel retail worldwide from October.

The edp scent is said to combine the fantastical and ultra-contemporary aspects of the Balenciaga brand. “There is a real duality in Balenciaga, between classicism and experimentation,” noted Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière. “For this new fragrance, I wanted to explore this paradox between the pure and the enigmatic further. A few years ago, I designed this ‘floral collection’. The dresses were covered with flowers, but these flowers were neither charming nor romantic. They structured the whole silhouette. I wanted the flowers in this perfume to express the same idea.”

(...) The fragrance face is actress Kristen Stewart, best known for her role in the blockbuster Twilight saga. Balanciaga chose her for her tetchy youthfulness and rebellious femininity.

“Kristen Stewart has a real personality,” noted Ghesquière. “She captivated me when we met a few years ago. I had not forgotten her. She is the perfect embodiment of a certain idea of Balenciaga: that beauty that is both pure and uncontrollable. We met again for Florabotanica. She is totally this graceful and mysterious figure that symbolises this strange botanical garden.”

The fragrance flacon features graphic black and white stripes, as favoured by Cristóbal Balenciaga. An oversized tube plunges into the middle of the bottle in the style of a laboratory test tube. Read more HERE

Preview of Kristen's New Interview with FashionMag.Com!!

Last week Fashion Canada was in Paris to interview Kristen about being the face of Balenciaga’s new Florabotanica perfume, which launches this fall. Between attending a garden party—hosted by Stewart and the fashion house’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière—and chatting one-on-one with the actress the next day about everything from fashion to fragrance, here are three things they learned about Kristen:

She loves her Balenciaga leather jacket
In Vanity Fair’s July issue cover story, the writer noted she wore it at two of their meetings. At last week’s launch party she layered the jacket over a pale blue dress, which she also paired with black booties.
She drops a lot of F-bombs
We counted six in our interview and heard a few more at dinner the night before.
She hates getting real flowers
“I would much rather keep them in the garden. Things need to move. I just feel like flowers are dead. They smell great, but I’m not a huge fan,” she told us. Note to Robert Pattinson: if you want to make Kristen your real-life bride, send her a bouquet made of twisted metal flowers modelled after the wild and dangerous-looking blooms seen in Florabotanica’s fragrance ad campaign. “Imagine getting this big metal [arrangement]… that would be awesome. I would marry whoever sent me that.”

Great interview, talks her new role in 'Cali', what she liked about the fragrance and MORE.

PARIS — Kristen Stewart has played many new and varied roles in the recent past. She became a beatnik (in “On the Road”), a vampire bride (in the “Twilight” series), Snow White (in “Snow White and the Huntsman”) and Hollywood’s highest-paid actress (in real life), making $34.5 million in the 12 months ended May, according to Forbes. But few know that Stewart is now a fragrance aficionado, too.

She is the face of Balenciaga Paris’ new women’s scent, Florabotanica, which is due out in September. Given that Stewart had never been drawn to fragrance in the past, it was an unlikely part.

“On a base level, the reason you want to wear a fragrance is because you want to smell attractive,” said Stewart, sitting in a suite of Le Bristol hotel here, wearing a Balenciaga T-shirt, shorts and heels. “That in itself is a pretty mature idea, especially considering the teenager I was. I was never the one wearing my mom’s perfume and trying to be sexy. I was like hanging out with my brothers and doing the opposite of that.

“I’m very lucky that I like the fragrance, because I would have done anything with [Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière],” continued the 22-year-old. “And I’m a terrible liar.”

Stewart said she was relieved the first time she smelled Florabotanica.

“There is something natural about it,” explained Stewart. “It’s very alive. I think that as a young person wearing it — considering that I’ve never worn a scent — it kind of puts you on this level of, like, ‘Whoa, check me out.’ ”

Balenciaga celebrates Kristen with a dinner in her honor, Tweets+Placement Card Pic!

So Kristen did it once again, she ninja-ed her way to Paris unnoticed. I'm glad, paps are so vicious these days. According to the tweets, below, Kristen will be shooting the tv spot/campaign ad (photoshoot) for Balenciaga's new perfume tomorrow! Remember Kristen was named the face of their new perfume earlier this year. I can't wait to see them, I'm sure Kristen will look beautiful as always!
