Ok so like promised, I'm writing a re-count of my day yesterday for those of you interested in knowing more! :)
I was in L.A/Hollywood yesterday for Jimmy Kimmel (where I saw Rob)! It was my first time every visiting.. Eventhough I've lived in California my whole life (19 years) Crazy I know! We had a 4 hours drive so we started early and left around 7am! We arrived around noon and went straight to the Chinese Grauman's theater, to see the Twilight handprints (which I had never seen before) I took pictures and that was that! We headed quickly over to the front of the Kimmel building where there were already 7 people in line (remember it was around 12pm/1pm) so we decided to go find something to eat before getting in line. We headed to a McDonalds down the street, picked up some burgers and fries and headed back to line.. As soon as we were in line people started arriving left and right.. Soon there were about 30-40 people in line.. It was now around 2:30ish. We were in line for about another hour or so when the 1iota people (they're in charge of Kimmel's audience) came out rounded us up and told us we would have to go line up in the back alley, we would be enetering through the back today. So we all made our way to the back alley, which was around the block, in a nicely formed line. I was surprised everyone kept so calm and collected and was really patient.. It was ofcourse until we reached the back alley that the hysteria started!
more after the cut!
Once we reached the back alley we saw what were about 60-80 people already there sitting all along the fence.. These people didn't have tickets for the show but were there in hopes of getting quick glimpse of Rob, and autograph and maybe a picture. So we were in seperate groups. They got them situated first, setting medal barricaded at each end of the alley (which was ultimately their mistake, you'll see why below) they set up a barricade with about 40 fans on one side, and another barricade with another 40 or so fans on the other end. One end neatly made it's way to their side while the other refused to move.. Everyone piled up behind the barricade and pushed people that had been there since 7am to the very back.. So their "line" they though they had situated was lost. The 1iota people started asking fan repeadetyly to move back.. They refused to move even an inch.. I'm sure in fear of loosing their spot.. Security then arrived and ultimately moved them. So after the fans (who wanted to meet rob) were situated they set up our (audience) lines. They had a 'priority' group and a 'general' group. The group you were in depended on the type of ticket you got and how quick you were when you requested them online. We had general. There was about 25 people in the priority line, and we were in the first 10 of the general line. So we got GREAT seats. We continued to wait about another hour or so, and then finally began letting the audience in.. It was then around 5:45-6:00pm.
While standing in line waiting to get our bags checked, we caught a quick glimpse of Jamie Fox arriving! He was there to pre-record his segment which airs September 4th. That was cool and un-expected! :)
Around 6:45 or so we were finally let in into the auctual studio (which is alot smaller than it seems) we got GREAT seat and were in the third row! So Jimmy's desk was literally only a couple of footsteps away! After we were seated we all had bathroom breaks, and got so pre-instructions as to what was allowed and what wasn't once the show started taping.. We did some warm-ups (clapping, yelling, cheering) I lost my voice before Rob was even out! At around 7:00pm Jamie Fox's segment was recorded with Jimmy.. He came out.. talked about his daughter going to college, how proud he was.. REALLY great/sweet interview! He did his segment (15min) and was gone..
(I did not take this pic, pictures were NOT allowed inside)
Then we were prepped, the real show was about to start! They start the show as normal talking about whose going to be on present Jimmy and then he walks out and the audience goes CRAZY!! (Let me just say Jimmy Kimmel is ALOT more handsome in person than he looks on TV lol) Anywho he talked about Prince Harry's nude photos, which was hilarious! And made some more jokes about the news and what not. After he was done with all that.. we went to commercial and he made his way to his desk.. We knew Rob was next since they showed a quick 10 sec clip of him walking down the hall backstage! Commercial breaks were like 2min or so.. Then once the show re-started we all went crazy again! He then introduced Rob (and I still couldn't believe Rob was going to come out of that door lol) and OUT walks Rob.. MY GOODNESS I had never EVER heard so much excitement, cheering, I love you's, yelling, etc all crammed into one room! It was AMAZING! Jimmy had to say "alright calm down you animals" or something along those lines, to get us to settle down. Lol Rob then did his interview, you can see it here.
And he was amazing.. So funny, giggly and cute! He is ALOT more handsome in person. He's thin, and tall! His hair, UNF. lol During commercial break he was very chatty with Jimmy! Seemed really happy! His interview was hilarious and he had everyone laughing most of the time! It was my first time ever seeing him in person so I was completely star-struck! Over-all it was an amazing experience! After his interview was done, we went to commercials. He got up waved goodbye to us (so sweet) and made his way off stage.. That was the last I saw of him.
(I didn't take this picture)
The guys from Pawn Stars then had their interview (Rick and Corey) which I was also excited to see. I'm a big Pawn Star fan! They were so funny, and just like you see them on the show. lol They presented Jimmy with an auto-graphed baseball. And their interview was also interesting. After they were done, we were all released to the outside upper in-door concert/stage. Polica sang one song (not a fan have no idea who they are sorry) Their singer has a beautiful voice though! We retrieved our cameras (which they take before you enter) and made our way out.. it was then we got word that sadly Rob had only signed for fans outside on one side of the alley and not the other.. Which I believe was 1iotas fault.. they should have situated fans on just ONE side.. There's no way Rob could have signed on one side then had to walk all the way to the opposite end.. He was gone by the time we were out.
It was 8:30 and we decided since we were already there (we had extra time) we should go see Cosmopolis. Which we (me, my cousin, and my friend) were all DYING to see. As of yesterday only one theater in L.A was showing the movie.. The Landmark.. So it was about a 30min drive (through traffic and all) we made our way through Beverly Hills along the way which was amazing! (yes it excited me) lol and then we arrived.
We bought out tickets, went it and the movie started at around 10pm. Will not mention ANY spoilers, I respect lot's of fans still have yet to see it.. But I will let you know what I personally thought about the movie.. I thought Cosmopolis was AMAZING. Not only because I'm a huge Rob fan.. but because it was genuinely mind blowing! His acting is just.. wow. Cronenberg did an amazing job, and all the praise the film has been receiving is VERY well justified. So if you get a chance to see it, GO! Pay attention throughout so your not lost (there are some slow spots) but just staring at Mr. Eric Packer got me through it! The last 20min or so were my FAVORITE. It's a very VERY intense/emotional build up with Rob and Paul Giammtti (Benno). You will LOVE it!
Well that's the best round-up I could come up with.. It's midnight but I really wanted to share this experience with you all! :) Sorry if I talked/typed to much.. Theres just so much to say/share! Feel free to leave me questions (you can always talk to me over on fb) *waves* for now.. Next thing on my calendar.. Tent City 2012! :)
Some things I forgot to add, just remembering now! The 1iota people kept talking about how Rob was causing craziness. There RARELY so over-packed.. There was a girl who started working for them in June and said she had NEVER seen so many people lined up and SO early.. but duh it's ROBERT PATTINSON! Lol Inside they told us (we in the audience) should consider ourselves lucky.. For that particular show (Rob's) they received an outrageous amount of ticket requests online.. but the audience only seats roughly 200 people.. So we were in the lucky 200! :) Kimmel also mentioned that there were hundred, HUNDREDS, of people outside. This all happened once we were inside so we had no idea.. Paps, LAPD, and LOTS of fans! Well i think that's all.. If I remember anything else I'll come back and add to this! :)
Wow!The experience seems great=)
ReplyDeleteWell written, when I was reading I felt as if it's me there not You.
